Ollie in the Window

I was telling a friend of mine, Kelsey, that the neighbors behind us built a clubhouse that... let’s just say taller than every house on the block and they could now easily stare in our windows.*

We start with practical solutions like curtains or reflective tints on the windows.

Of course, if you talk to me long enough, things will get weird.

Some other solutions included putting a giant picture of an old lady in one of the windows and then have her move slightly every now and then, just to mess with them, and then add other characters. Then there is the option of having a bunch of creepy dolls hanging on trees in the backyard and one in the alley moving closer everyday. I even looked on ebay if I could find a bulk order of dolls.

And then we remembered I have a two year old and I didn't want this to be what he talks to his therapist about.

So, we moved on to cardboard cut outs. And Kelsey had the idea of putting a cardboard cutout of each of us in the windows.

Oh what fun we had discussing all the possibilities, but you know not actually do anything with those ideas.

Y'all.

Saturday, we get a package with Kelsey's name on the address. I wasn't thinking about our conversation at all. I opened the package** and there is a giant cutout of Ollie's face staring at me. Y'all, she actually sent us a cardboard cutout of Ollie's head! She went through with it! This thing is bigger than Ollie's head!
There’s something about you I really like
Ollie loves it. He is constantly carrying it around and likes to put it in back together with the rest of the cardboard it came with. He is constantly looking for "Ollie". We even had dinner with it yesterday.

Your mother was a hamster

I've come to calling them the twins, but ideas for names are appreciated. Some names we thought of: "Follie" as in fake-Ollie,  "Flat Ollie,"  "Mesa" as in flat Hill," or "big O and little O."

I was able to finally put Flat Ollie in the window and I may have heard our neighbors talking about it.

Get you a friend that will actually make you go through with your crazy ideas, because it is great entertainment.

Thank you, Kelsey for not only having my weird sense of humor, but also giving me something to think about besides how scary the world is right now because of COVID-19.

Also, I will take future prank ideas because I am now addicted. I saw a video on TikTok where this guy printed out pictures of toilet paper and stuck it in his window to make it look like he was hoarding toilet paper, but I'm not looking to put my family in danger.

*Obviously not their intention
** With her permission of course.
