Here we are at the end of my bathroom journey... Yes, I did choose to keep that sentence in.
Today is including two projects that make a big impact. Let's start with the linen cabinet.
Usually when I have a project in mind and no one has a clue what I am talking about, I usually take that as a hint of I shouldn't go through with this project. To be fair, it is hard to visualize turning a cabinet into a hutch and somehow shiplap is involved.
The funnest part of any project is demo. At least, up until this part it was fun. This cabinet was well built. Let's just say a lot of creativity was involved in getting this part out.

If you hear Ollie saying "too loud!" it was this project that inspired that phrase.
I chose to leave the hamper part of it, but I didn't want to use it as a hamper anymore...

I added shelves. I improvised how to add them but they are steady and definitely get the job done. I am very grateful I added them when I did because this project spanned several months as our budget only allows us to spend so much money on home projects each month.
I planned on cutting wood myself and faking shiplap. There are a lot of tutorials for doing that. So I went ahead and mapped out where the wood would sit so we knew how much we required. Well, this was the start of the pandemic and no one wanted to cut wood at Home depot, so Aaron went with real shiplap.

I am so glad he did, because it is so easy to install. I started at the top and intentionally hung the shiplap upside down. All that you need is a level, hammer, and nails.

We would slowly add shiplap every month.

Aaron ended up having to finish the project as I became pregnant and couldn't be around paint anymore. He added trimming, painted and hung the brackets for the shelves. Y'all, I am so obsessed with how this turned out! I think it made a bigger impact on the bathroom than the vanity did. It makes our bathroom look taller and brighter.
The last project I did (several months ago) was the window. Before we moved in, I knew I wanted to add some farmhouse inspired trim to the window.
The first thing I did was paint the black trim, just to clean it up some. I tried saying hi to the neighbors, but You couldn't see through the wrapping paper.
This is one of the projects I was inspired by...

...and this is how it turned out. I didn't follow the measurements exactly, because I was using scrap wood around the house, but wow do I love the way it turned out.

Of course the best part of any makeover is actually styling it. Oh man, did I go ham at Hobby Lobby. That is the one store I could spend hours in. Aaron doesn't like going shopping with me at Hobby Lobby. I do have a rug that I am anxiously waiting by the door to be delivered as well.

This quickly went from my most hated room in the house to my favorite. I am so proud of how it turned out.
