*I was awoken at 430 am 7/23 to my water breaking. I am not a procrastinator... at all.. except this time when I didn't have the diaper bag ready. Fortunately, we bought a bunch of stuff from Target for it so we didn't have to scramble too much.
*Oliver was due 7/30 and we were planning on inducing the Thursday before. I had no idea I was having contractions. Before you think I'm some warrior woman, I'm a nightmare patient with Pap smears. We also never checked to see if I was dialated at my doctor's appointments (you start checking at around 37 weeks) because it hurt too much.
*My doctor actually suggested I drink wine next time I come to her office. I wasn't sure if she was joking or not. She did seem disappointed when Aaron told her we don't drink, so I don't think she was kidding. We never made it to the appointment (Oliver decided to make his debut).
*When we got to the hospital, Aaron parked the car close to the entrance. The security guard said it was fine, but to move it as soon as he can. It ended up being a long time because he was on his way.
*I got into a wheel chair and Aaron drove me. The wheel chair stops really quickly when you let go of the handle. It took Aaron a couple of tries to figure that out.
*Aaron remembered labor and delivery being on the second floor. It's not. Yelling for someone to help you find labor and delivery gets you nowhere.
*Labor and delivery is on the fourth floor.
*Usually they check your fluids if you think your water broke. After looking at my wheelchair, they believed me.
*They checked to see how dialated I was. I was at a 9.
*They gave me an epidural as long as I could hold still. Philippians 4:13.
*Oliver was side ways and then sunny-side up, so it gave enough time for the epidural to kick in. My child is the best.

Thoughts from feeding Oliver in the wee hours
*I once asked Aaron how many babies we have
*I thought I was holding him in bed and couldn't find him. I asked Aaron where he was. Aaron walked over to the bassinet (literally an inch away from me) and said he was in there).
*I woke up at the wrong time several times and it always takes me forever to figure out.
I've got a hungry baby, so here is an unedited blog...
