Ollie actually had fun making this one. His really liked painting the tube green.
I just used what we had at home, so I had to get creative, like cutting a paper towel roll in half and painting white tissue paper red because we had no fire colored tissue paper.
It turned out really cool. The best part is that the tissue paper moves whenever you blow into the tube. We decided that this dragon lives in a cave.
Take a Trip Tuesday
We did this on Friday because Ollie went to Mother's Day Out Tuesday and Aaron could join us on Friday.
I could not find anywhere having to do with knights or dragons or castles. The best I could come up with was mini golf because I thought they might have a castle on one of the holes. They didn’t.
We said this was a castle and that was good enough for a four year-old. This was seriously the closest activity we got that had anything to do with medieval, unless you count Burger King.
We had so much fun. There were a lot of fun obstacles.
I'm, like, really sporty, you guys. You don't even know.
Water Wednesday
Today, Sir Oliver protected Princess Harper and her castle from the dragons.
We made a catapult and launched balloons filled with water. Ollie decided when a balloon popped, we defeated the dragon.
It is not easy finding water balloons mid- August, by the way. I went to three different stores before giving up and just buying regular balloons. They were hard to pop, so Ollie just started chucking the balloons at the fence.
Thinking Thursday
We made a foaming dragon!
This one was very easy, just a vinegar and baking soda experiment, but this time it was very effective. Ollie wanted to do it over and over again.
Scrumptious Saturday
This was the goal:
They looked really cute and they had simple ingredients, but my stand mixer's bowl broke a while ago so we had to stir it by hand. Even a patient person would agree that I stirred the recipe for a very long time to only end up with medium peeks verses the firm we were supposed to get. This was the result:
Looks less like flames and more like... gymnosporangium rust? One looks like a snail. It kept the kids entertained, so still not a fail.
