Roll for project 3

This is list is the prime example of why I need the “roll for project.” They are pro

 1. Screen door

This project took me five-and-a-half years.

The first thing I did was I also put the weathering strip back on it.  At some point we had to take it off because the door got stuck behind it and we couldn’t open it. This process took about 2 minutes plus five years of preparing myself to do it.

my cat is a paid model

When my Father-in-law installed our doggy door, he suggested we put caps over the screws. So I did that five-and-a-half years later.

I also spray painted the door black and replaced the door flap.

2. Hang mirror

I’ve had a mirror hanging out in our hall for months because I didn’t think I had the hardware. But (and here’s the twist M. Night Shyamalan would love) I found the hardware.

3. Mailbox

I’ve already tried making over my mailbox from a pale ‘70s yellow, but it was time for a refresh. If you want to gather your neighbors about you, make over your mailbox. It has worked twice for me.

I really liked posts like this, which with the mailbox would have cost around $150

I decided to make my own for around $40)

The only things I had to buy was patio paint ($2.49 per bottle) mailbox ($20), fill-it strips ($1.37 per board), corbel ($2) and wood-filler ($10).

I used this image from Pinterest as a guide, used nails and wood glue to put strips up until I liked the look, and then used wood filler to cover all my mistakes. I think the free corbel adds a nice touch.

4. Gutters

We had gutters on the side of the house that needed rehanging. I had to special-order gutter nails because nowhere local had them.

5. Towel bar

I must have accidentally thrown one of the towel bar holders away when I was cleaning up from my last “tiling job.” I found the exact one I needed at Habitat for Humanity. Paid 54 cents. I already had liquid nails at home. If you don’t count the free projects, I think this wins for least-expensive project.
