I attempted to find the oldest recorded joke in the world to make a point that it has been a while (almost 1 1/2 years) since I made a blog post.Turns out the only jokes worth writing down were filthy.
Last post was March 2018, when I made a post about making baby food for Ollie.
This is what Ollie looked like last time I blogged. Can you handle the cuteness? Yes he has food on his chin... but nothing compared to what he looks like today.
Let's break this picture down. Sometime during his nap, Ollie found his hat and put it on. Various stains on his shirt include dirt, watermelon, Cheetos, lemonade, beans, chicken, cake, taco salad, and refried beans. He's holding his shoe, which he took off at some point in the middle of our muddy backyard.
It wasn't our best day. We kept him up after his nap time and Aaron and I were on a youth retreat for the past couple of days.
It's so easy to remember the moments of him screaming at the start of a church-wide business meeting and me having to put him in time-out twice.
But that was such a brief moment of the day. He also gave me extra cuddles today and sang along to "Holy Holy Holy." That's his jam! We read a book about a pig who borrowed features from other animals twice (second time I definitely summarized it). He talked on and on about what he did in Sunday School (something about Jesus?). He played with stacking cups forever and giggled when my hair tickled his face.
Why does the negative (however small) outweigh the positive every time?
I've been wanting to start the blog up again but never had a great story to start it so we're just going to start it. Why not? This blog is about a real family who is really boring.
Won't you join us?
